Kid-friendly Sweet Pork Ribs
Here's a treat for the whole family! Sweet Pork Spareribs that is easy-to-make you can do other things while this baby cooks. Marinate the day before and pop in the oven or broiler. Leave for 2 hours and tadah! You have a super tasty meal after. Here's how:
3 slabs of pork spareribs (approx 1.5 kgs+)
2 tsps Reqado Mustard Powder
1 1/2 tsp Reqado Garlic Powder
1 1/2 tsp Reqado Cumin Powder
2 tbsps Reqado Paprika
2 tbsps Washed or Brown Sugar
1 tsp ground pepper
2 tsps salt
2 tbsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup organic or regular honey
juice of half a lemon, or 6 pieces kalamansi
1 tbsp Tabasco sauce (optional only, remove if kids don't like heat)
Marinating the meat:1. In a baking tray, combine all ingredients in and mix really well. Rub the sauce into the meat to make sure it gets to the creases and crevasses of the ribs.
Cooking the Ribs:1. Pre-heat oven to 175C.
Note: Cooking time can be adjusted depending on how you want your ribs to be cooked. If fall-off-the-bone, slow bake for 3 hours before opening the foil and doing steps 5, 6 and 7.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
Enjoy this finger-licking good dish with the kids. But first, have them wash their hands, of course :)
